The article informs about the Endothelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Topics discussed include abnormal increase in pulmonary vascular resistance as a result of a reduction in the cross-sectional area of pulmonary arteries and arterioles; endothelial cells differentiate and acquire phenotypic characteristics of mesenchymal/smooth muscle cells; and progression and metastatic potential of multiple malignancies.
