- Abstract
The article aims on response to Zadek et al.'s letter, the authors acknowledge the safe use of ECMO in obese ARDS patients, highlighting the distinct lung mechanics in this population. They appreciate Zadek et al.'s emphasis on PEEP optimization using esophageal balloon monitoring, transthoracic ultrasound and EIT, despite acknowledging limitations in the study's population size and lack of a robust control group.
