Title
A Japanese push for bio-ETBE over hioethanol.
Abstract
The article reports on the inauguration of the bio-ethyl tertiary butyl ether (bio-ETBE) by the petroleum-refining company Nippon Oil Corp. in Tokyo, Japan. The bio-ETBE is blended into the gasoline as an alternative to bioethanol. The company had planned to mix bio-ETBE with regular gasoline and to sell it at 1,000 service stations in the city. The company has aimed to market 840 million liters per year of bio-ETBE-mixed gasoline in April 2010.
