- Authors
Weisbord, Steven D.; Unruh, Mark L.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the importance of health-related quality of life ( HRQoL) in the clinical care of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It is claimed that the HRQoL of patients with CKD is an overlooked component of the kidney disease experience of the said patient population. The importance of HRQoL to patients with end-stage renal disease is described. Details of how HRQoL assessment may help improve care related to dialysis patients' symptoms, psychological illness, and functional status is outlined.
