- Abstract
The article provides information on the event titled Our Shared Landscape Conference: Integrating Ecological, Socio-Economic, and Aesthetics in Landscape Planning and Management held in Ascona, Switzerland on May 26, 2005. The conference was attended by landscape architects, geographers, planners and landscape scientists who discussed and presented their views on ecology, socio-economics and landscape aesthetics. The event included a panel discussion about ecological aesthetics. The panelists raised the question of whether people can, or even should, try to combine aesthetic and ecological goals when managing and protecting landscapes.
