- Abstract
This article presents letters and diaries of J. Frank Dobie during 1913-1914 when he was working on a Masters of Arts Degree at Columbia University, New York City. In January 19, 1913, Dobie wrote to his mother about joining the Daughters of the Confederacy and he mentioned the importance of being Southern in the diary.
