- Abstract
An essay is presented discussing intersection between the British postal network and literature, as seen through the lives and writings of the British Victorian-era authors Lady Augusta Gregory, Thomas Clarke and Rabindranath Tagore. Topics addressed include the Royal Mail's relationship to the transmission of texts and language, how the Victorian postal system influenced literary realism, and the depiction of such communication systems within the literature of these authors.
