- Abstract
Nietzsche represents an important phase in the history of philosophy; on the one hand, he concludes an grand philosophical approach that revolves around a number of metaphysical and rational issues, and, on the other hand, stands for the dichotomy and simultaneously the beginning of a new era of thought. His criticism of a philosophical approach not established yet means that he is one of the founders of a new intellectual trend which is characterized by complexity and diversity and practices criticism on the mind and on criticism itself. The current paper addresses it self to study some of Nietzsche’s important propositions that helped in the establishment of postmodernism and assists the reader to understand the relationship between these propositions and a number of contemporary philosophies such as nihilism, counter values, criticism of the philosophy of consciousness and irrationality (centrality of the mind) as well as other propositions that pave the way for postmodernism. Nietzsche’s discourse focuses on the values of postmodernism and tries to scrutinize the modernist centrality of the mind, its universality, progressive metaphysical tendencies and totality. His discourse is more aligned to decentralism, pluralism and freedom of the human mind. He also works on marginalizing the totalitarian thought that was propagated to be in the lead by the Enlightenment and Modernism.
