- Abstract
Between April 19th and May 19th, 1922 Humberto dos Passos-Freitas, a businessman and sportsman from Madeira, made an expedition to the Danube Delta, Romania. Rudolph Pop, the taxidermist of the Museum of Natural History in Bucharest, accompanied him during the expedition,. The results of the observations and collections made in the Danube Delta are recorded in a 41 page paper, published in Bucharest in 1922, at Socec Publishing House. In this expedition, 127 species of birds belonging to 36 families and 16 orders were observed. At that time, the authors called this report as preliminary, that is, the first part; unfortunately, the second part never appeared.
