- Abstract
The article presents a study, which assesses the fakability of the Personal Orientation Inventory. Four groups (combined N = 67) completed a self-actualization measure, the Personal Orientation Inventory, under standard instructions, and later, under instructions to either make a good impression or appear well-adjusted. Faked-administration scores were consistently less favorable than under standard instructions, with 23 of 48 t tests significant. Two additional groups (combined N = 42) achieved consistently more favorable scores after receiving information about the concept of actualization.
