- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the special role played by special herbaria in modern botanical research. The general tendency that exists in the human mental equipment to over-valuate personal experiences as exemplified in the use and abuse of herbaria and herbarium methods in botany is described. It is noted that the taxonomist equipped with a modern scientific training is able to criticize his special subject with more reason than his colleagues in other branches of botany. Information is presented on transplant experiments being conducted in some areas in Great Britain.
