- Abstract
The article discusses the 2017 Ecological Society of America's annual meeting in Portland, Oregon. The author discusses the three aspects of general theme that was widespread including the adaptive value of functional traits, the importance of including interactions with the environment when assessing how traits affect fitness, and whether there are one or two master traits that can describe the global dimensions of plant form and function.
