An essay is presented on the reading habits of Eliza Haywood's 18th-century readers in the New York Society Library (NYSL) and the Union Library at Hatboro, Pennsylvania. Topics include Eliza Haywood and her works including "The Female Spectator" and "The History of Miss Betsy Thoughtless," the studies by Dale Spender, Alicia C. Montoya, and Jan Fergus on her works' popularity, and online transcript of the first borrowing ledger of NYSL. It compares the borrowing occasions in both libraries.
