- Abstract
A letter is presented which offers information on a study that investigated sudden deaths in U.S. Triathlon sanctioned events from 2006 to 2008. The researchers tabulated sanctioned events from January 2006 through September 2008 using online race results. Excluded from the list were participants in nonsanctioned races, relay races or triathlons without full swim-bike-run sequence. Findings of the study are presented. It concludes that triathlons pose inherent problems to determining distressed athletes.
