However the period analyzed was relatively short and no notable changes in the operative setting of laboratories performing HIT diagnostics were reported, with the exception that a few additional laboratories established the functional assay after VITT emergence. Moreover, the rise in anti-PF4 testing in the period after the VITT uprise (total tests/year=4,790) lies above the 95% CIs of the projected progressive increase of testing based on the trend in the previous three year (n=3,364) (Supplementary Figure 2).
