- Title
Lucian Freud: Psychoanalysis in Paint?
- Authors
SPITZ, ELLEN HANDLER
- Abstract
The article features the Lucian Freud show held in Centre Pompidou, concurrent with the show of Yves Saint Laurent at Petit Palais, in Paris, France. The author shares that they may seem antithetical, with the noted painter Lucian Freud showing individual naked human bodies, while the master of haute couture Yves conceals, drapes and disguises the human body with cloth. According to the author, Yves saw the truth lying elsewhere than the body, while Freud viewed the human body as an armature.
