- Abstract
The article presents the history of the twelve-tone serial music in the U.S. from late 1920s to the 2008. It states that the aim of the study is to revise the American twelve-tone music by confronting the myths that have been developed around it. It presents the different phases of serialism in the U.S. Moreover, it also mentions the prominent twelve-tone composers in the U.S. such as Henry Cowell and Ruth Crawford.
