- Abstract
In order to develop a new method for dyeing wool fabrics, laccase catalyzed oxidation of hydroquinone polymerization was used to dye wool fabrics. In this paper, two-bath two-step, one-bath two-step and one-bath one-step methods were used to dye wool fabrics. The dyeing effect was investigated by measuring the color depth (K/S value) and color fastness of the dyed fabrics, and the mechanical properties, alkali resistance, hydrophilicity and UV resistance of the dyed wool fabrics were tested. The experimental results show that the color depth of one-bath one-step dyeing process of laccase-catalyzed hydroquinone polymerization dyed wool fabric is better than that of two-bath two-step dyeing process and one-bath two-step dyeing process. The washing fastness of dyed fabrics can reach grade 3 or above, and the rubbing fastness can reach grade 3-4 or above. Compared with the original wool, the weight of the wool fabric dyed by laccase-catalyzed hydroquinone polymerization increased, and the breaking strength, hydrophilicity and UV resistance were improved, but the alkali resistance decreased.
