The article discusses the link between Puritan Congregationalism and the colony's law. Topics covered include details of how central Puritan Congregationalism was in the organic law, statutory law and common law of the so-called River Colony, an analysis of the law of the New Haven colony, which is a separate community settled in 1683 that joined with the River Colony in 1665 to create a unified Connecticut Colony, and an examination of the law of Connecticut Colony.
