- Abstract
The article highlights the creation of a novel self-cleaning coating for polymer and glass surfaces that depends on titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysis, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), glass and plasticized PVC substrates. To test the photocatalytic self-cleaning TiO2 coating, three substrate materials were used by the authors in their experiment which includes a HDPE, poly(vinyl chloride) and borosilicate glass. They conclude that based on their experiments that self-cleaning surfaces ca be made from polymer and glass surfaces.
