- Abstract
The article presents a study on DNA transposon (NbTc1) collected from the microsporidian Nosema (N.) bombycis. Such transposon encodes amino acid transposase sequence that totals to 337. NbTc1 was isolated and characterized by screening the N. bombycis genome. Pulsed field gel elecrophoresis (PfGE) was used to separate N. bombycis chromosomes in order to determine the genomic distribution of NbTc1 in the genome. Phylogenetic analysis shows that NbTc1 transposon is not closely related to known Tc1 transposable elements from other species.
