- Abstract
This article discusses court cases from the 70th session of the Human Rights Committee (HRC) held in Geneva, Switzerland in November 2000 about the applicability of International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) provisions. Topics include a complaint about indigenous Maori fishing rights in the case of Mahuika et al v. New Zealand, a challenge of the denial of New Zealand residency in the case Toala et al v. New Zealand, and the use of hate speech in the case of Ross v. Canada.
