- Abstract
The woman took the troubled times of Spanish American independence to take part in the fighting, breaking the social barriers and going from being a inactive character, limited private space, to an active character, the protagonist in the public space. However, this change was only temporary, because, although the war took advantage of his participation, the peace, the press manipulated her participation, minimizing her actions, insulting her attitudes or forgetting her contribution, showing in the article through several examples
