- Abstract
The article evaluate the increasing value of doctorate in the journalism education as a new trend in the United States. It reflects that the growth in journalism student enrollment has begun to have an impact on journalism faculties too. It has expanded their strength and has affected their very academic nature. The course of journalism has been unique among academic disciplines because of its emphasis on practical, skill-centered qualifications and media experience as the primary requirements for employment. But it has been replaced by a more academically traditional and educator-oriented approach.
