The article discusses what the author refers to as the benefits and concerns that are associated with the use of a narrower interpretation of a persons aggrieved provision in Title VII of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), and it mentions legal standing to file a lawsuit under Title VII, as well as legal cases involving workplace racial discrimination claims such as Jackson v. Deen which deals with celebrity cook Paula Deen. Several other U.S. civil rights statutes are examined.
