The author discusses how African American creative writer Maya Angelou narrates through her autobiographical essays the struggles of people from the oppressed communities. According to the author, Angelou presents in her series of autobiography the real condition of African American women and their quest for love and to be understood. The author notes that Angelou's relationship with the family and the African American community is dominant in her autobiography.
