- Title
Creating an All-American Homeland Security Campus.
- Authors
GOULD-WARTOFSKY, MICHAEL
- Abstract
The article discusses the increasing militarization and repression on American college campuses, which has been a long-standing process spanning multiple presidential administrations. The author outlines a seven-step process that has been used to create a "homeland security campus," including targeting the movement for divestment, censoring pro-Palestinian speech, punishing student protest, disciplining faculty dissent, locking the community out while allowing vigilantes in, calling the police and inciting a riot, and waging information warfare. The article highlights the erosion of free speech and the right to protest, as well as the use of force and surveillance against students and faculty.
