- Abstract
Taking the mobile signaling data as the data source, we investigate the spatio-temporal difference of urban residents' activities between weekdays and weekends in Xining City, as well as quantify the effect of spatial distribution of POI (point ol interest) facilities on residents7 activity. The study results could be summarized as follows. 1) Xining is a city with single center spatial structure. Residents are concentrated in the downtown areas on weekdays, but more dispersed on weekends. 2) On weekends, commercial and transportation facilities have a positive impact on residents' activities; similarly, there is a strong positive correlation between residential land and activities in the morning, but the intensity would decrease in the afternoon. In addition, industrial and publk: land have a negative effect on residents' activity intensity in most periods ol weekends. 3) On weekdays, the influence ol commercial lacilities on residents' activities is obviously compromised; residential land only has a positive impact on residents' activities in the early morning and evening, while it basically has a passive impact during daytime; and industrial and public land virtually encourage residents to carry out activities in the daytime. These results are beneficial to grasp the spatio-temporal differences ol residentsfiactivities on weekdays and weekends and their inlluencing mechanisms, which provide a reference for the planning of urban travel space and infrastructure.
