- Abstract
The collateral circulation of the mesenteric vasculature has been well described. The marginal artery, or artery of Drummond parallels the mesenteric border on the entire colon, and the Riolan arch connecting the left branch of the middle colonic artery to the ascending branch of the left colonic artery across a portion of Marginal artery. Recently Moskowitz and collaborators described the meandering mesenteric artery as a novel collateral vessel with grand surgical implications. The objective of this writing is to describe its clinical and surgical importance.
