- Authors
JOHNSTON, DAVID W.
- Abstract
The author discusses the nesting attempt by a female house finch Carpodacus mexicanus under the eaves of a two-story porch of the Cedar Key Historical Society Museum in Cedar Key, Levy County, Florida in the winter of 2009. Town residents noted the scarcity of house finches in November 2009 despite the fact that they frequently breed in the area. The author describes the weather condition during his discovery. He mentions reports of winter nesting in California.
