- Abstract
The article presents a study that explores the rate of patient medication inquiries and their influence on clinical encounters in primary care in the U.S. The results revealed that there were 168 clinicians in 22 practice who completed forms after 1,647 patient encounters. Moreover, most clinicians reported the requested medication was not their first choice for treatment, but it was prescribed in 53% of the cases.
