The article discusses about virtual reality and the limits of immersion. Topics include virtual reality (VR) has proved to be a particularly effective tool for reconstructing and simulating physical spaces; virtual reality's focus on spatial experience typically leaves the temporality of a virtual environment to default to ‘real time'; and most instrumental uses of VR depend on a sense of continuous spatio-temporality, experienced from a first-person point of view.
