An essay is presented on the evolution of American film serials, mass culture and films in the 1920s. Topics discussed include industrialization of film making processes in the U.S., increasing demands for film serials in 1920s, and expansion of American film industry. Other topics include impact of serialization on industrial production and a statement of film historian Richard Maltby on alteration of feature films.
