- Abstract
We thank Suresh and Aggarwal for their interest in our study on Utility of measuring optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) by ultrasound in children with acute liver failure (ALF).1 Their main concerns are related to possible bias due to non-blinding of ultrasonograpic measurements and effect of high positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) and high end-tidal carbon dioxide (eTCO2) levels in patients on mechanical ventilation (MV). We feel that for a research study looking at validity of ONSD, comparison with the invasive measurement would have been ideal and it would have also taken care of the above-mentioned bias regarding the accuracy of ONSD measurement. 2 Suresh V, Aggarwal A.
