- Abstract
An essay is presented examining the unpublished poetic works of the 19th-century English writer William Morris. Topics addressed include an overview of Morris' only unpublished works in his lifetime from the 1860s and 1870s, their depiction of personal grief, and discussion of various trends and poetic styles explored by Morris in view of his published and unpublished works together. Individual poems examined include "Near but Far Away," "Hapless Love," and "Alone Unhappy by the Fire I Sat."
