A critique is presented of poems such as "Semele," "Boädicéa," and "Kapiolani" by 19th century English poet Alfred Tennyson, focusing on the free verse aspects of the poems. The attitudes of poets such as Robert Frost to free verse, Tennyson's poetic structure, and religion in the poems are discussed, as well as rhyme and meter in poetry.
