- Abstract
A critique is presented of the poem "Caliban upon Setebos" by English poet Robert Browning, focusing on the use of first and third person by the poem's narrator and his musings on thought and consciousness. Analogical thinking, psychologist Nicholas Humphrey, and monologue in the poem are discussed, as well as intersubjectivity, cognitive science, and mindreading.
