A literary criticism of the English poem "The Dunciad Variorum" by Alexander Pope is presented. The author discusses a quotation on inspiration from the poem and suggests as a source an anonymous poem regarding the English poet Thomas Creech and his translation of Lucretius' "De Rerum Natura."
