Abstract
The article reports on the hypothesis of Theodore Stankowich of the University of Massachusetts and Tim Caro of the University of California at Davis on the presence of prongs on female yak as published in the "Proceedings of the Royal Society London." It states that the weaponry on female bovids develop for defence against predators. Meanwhile, the horns for smaller female bovids is developed for territorial battles.
