- Abstract
The article examines the use of personal and area sampling strategies to assess the exposure of workers from vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), a raw material in manufacturing chloride resins, in Taiwan. Several studies have found to cause various health problems such as hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, and acroosteolysis. In 1989, health check-ups were performed in five factories wherein more than 200 workers were given examinations of hand X-ray, indocyanine green retention test, and liver sonography. Other materials and methods used in the study were discussed together with the results.
