- Authors
Bird, Lucy
- Abstract
The article presents a study that investigates the effectiveness of epithelial cells in the removing gastrointestinal worms. In this study, they proved that the type 2 response-inducing cytokine interleukin 25 (IL-25) in the epithelial cells are responsible in promoting the population of the type 2 innate effector cells that are needed in the efficient worm expulsion. Moreover, they used mice in assessing the role of IL-25 against helmith Nippostrongylus brasiliensis.
