- Title
T cell responses: A new starting point.
- Authors
Leavy, Olive
- Abstract
The article discusses a study which indicates that the induction of T cell responses can occur in the liver in the absence of lymphoid tissues. In initiating a T cell-mediated immune response to subcutaneous antigen without lymphoid tissues, the authors of the study showed that antigen is transported by antigen-presenting cells to the liver of splenectomized alymphoplasia mice. They also observed massive leukocyte infiltration and accumulation in the liver.
