- Abstract
An interview with Ethiopian filmmaker Haile Gerima is presented. When asked if his family background had influence on his films, Gerima explains that the scenes in his films such as "Harvest: 3000 Years," and "Teza" showed actual footprints of his youth in a large family living in a rural peasant society while being a son of a playwright also had its creative influence on him. He believes that film is more open to political possibilities than theater because it has the individualized power of the director's vision to control his own story.
