- Abstract
Teachers' occupational stress and career burnout may lower their teaching enthusiasm, thus hinder the improvement of education quality. Based on the survey on 390 teachers at primary and secondary schools, this study has some findings as follows: the occupational pressure of primary and secondary school teachers is at the medium high level, with high pressures coming from the social background and academic examination; the career burnout is at the medium level, with high score of emotional exhaustion, followed by low sense of personal achievement, low score of de-humanization tendency, and the three factors having significant differences between either the twos; gender, age, teaching discipline and professional title significantly affect teachers' career burnout; a variety of complex causal relations are seen between teachers' occupational stress and career burnout, and the influence degree and paths of each factor are quite different; social background has a weak prediction on the influential factors of job burnout, and each factor has a weak influence on the low achievement; and career development is the most important influential factor on teachers' burnout. It is suggested to responding actively to teachers' requirement for the career development, promoting the integrated development of education community, optimizing the academic evaluation standards and teachers' psychological service system to improve the current situation.
