- Title
Run Hugs, Squeeze Hugs, and Jump Hugs: Playfully Professing Parenthood and the Self-in-Relation.
- Authors
Ouellette, Marc
- Abstract
The author discusses he and his wife's playful profession of parenthood and care for their two growing children and with it a self-in-relation. Topics covered include the children's love of run hugs, squeeze hugs, and jump hugs, and the parents' practice of spontaneous and free-flowing sex-role positions to impart learning through transtextual sources and methods. The author also notes the use of gamefied gender play to rescue masculinity away from overt, aggressive behavior.
