- Authors
WRIGHT, QUINCY
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of war claims and the future of war claims policies. As mentioned, war claims seemed to have been based on several considerations including respect for property and other legal rights of individuals, respect for international law, and equalization of losses. As mentioned, each of the following factors for war claims has been affected by changes in military techniques, social ideas, and international law. As stated, in the future, law and policy in respect to war claims should have objectives set forth in the United Nations Charter. As mentioned, the objectives include promotion of respect for human rights, promotion of respect for law, and promotion of general economic prosperity and welfare.
