The article focuses on the implementation of the contents of the Gemeinsame europäische Referenzrahmen für Sprachen (GeR) companion volume in the context of language teaching, learning, and assessment for non-experts at European universities. Topics include need to develop competencies for language mediation; and how to incorporate mediation as an instrument for learning and teaching in university language courses on cross-linguistic mediation and the development of plurilingual language.
