- Abstract
The article analyzes a study on the prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and type 2 diabetes (DM2) in obese children and adolescents of Greek origin in an effort to uncover predictive, risk and preventive factors. It says that the overall prevalence rates of the diseases in study participants were lower than those reported in a multiethnic U.S. research. It discusses methods and procedures used in the study. The clinical and metabolic characteristics of the subjects are also described.
