- Abstract
Nature-based efforts could further climate mitigation and help limit warming to 1.5°C, given that proper and immediate solutions are implemented with similar ambition as in energy and industry sectors; however, omission of natural solutions or delays in overall climate action would substantially undermine the climate target of Paris Agreement. Our results show that NCS, depending on its size of emissions mitigation (Figure 1a), can further lower the global temperature by 0.2-0.4°C, such that global temperature rise by 2100 relative to preindustrial level (1850 s-1900 s) can be limited to around or below 1.5°C (Figure 1b).
