- Title
More Money Market Reform Likely.
- Abstract
The article explores the expected money market reform in 2012. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released rule in January 2010 that is designed to improve the safety of money market funds. In October 2010, the President's Working Group on Financial Markets started to call for additional reform on the rule, which they believe needs more to mitigate systemic risk and susceptibility of MMF. SEC chairman Mary L. Schapiro announced in November 2011 that reform is on the way with the SEC and the Financial Stability Oversight Council working hand-in-hand.
